1987, President Ronald Reagan recognized March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month to increase “public awareness of the needs and the potential of Americans with developmental disabilities” and to provide the “encouragement and opportunities they need to lead productive lives and to achieve their full potential.”
DWI has been serving the community fulfilling our Mission of Assisting individuals who have a disability or who are disadvantaged to recognize and achieve their chosen level of economic and social independence. 2022 will be celebrated as the 50th year of DWI's incorporation as a non-profit serving the Eastern Idaho community.
We encourage everyone to learn more about Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and how you can participate and share your awareness with others.  You can find information on the website of the National Associations of Councils on Developmental Disabilities
