DWI receives three-year accreditation from CARF

DWI has received another three-year accreditation from CARF for a number of Programs and Services:

  • Community Employment Services: Employment Supports
  • Community Employment Services: Job Development
  • Community Integration
  • Employee Development Services
  • Organizational Employment Services

CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) was founded in 1966 as an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services, with a mission to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process and continuous improvement services that center on enhancing the lives of persons served.

Over a three-day period this June, CARF surveyors audited programs, reports and organization documents.  They observed operations and interviewed staff and persons served.

The exhaustive survey and report calls attention to organizational and program strengths and provides recommendations for any opportunities for quality improvement.

Some of the Strengths noted included:

  • DWI offers a wide variety of opportunities for the clients, including development therapy, adult day health and employment.
  • Feedback from stakeholders, including parents, care providers and service coordinators was positive.
  • DWI is dedicated to delivering exceptional services to both the clients and their families, prioritizing personalized care and attention.
  • Funding sources and employment contracts consistently praised DWI, highlighting the exceptional services it provides and the positive impact it has on the community.

We are pleased that the surveyors were able to verify what we know about all of our DWI Champions who work and participate in our various programs and activities.

Since 1973, DWI has continued to receive three-year accreditations from CARF each survey period.
